Onsite Services
For those scanning projects where the object is unmovable or
impractical to ship, Berding 3D Scanning offers onsite services.
Our scanning professionals will travel to your facility to capture
the 3D definition of your tools, dies, manufacturing floor or
building. With the capture speed of our scanning systems, we
will be in and out before you know it so that we don’t
take away your most precious asset: time.

3D Laser Scanning Services
Berding 3D Scanning provides reverse engineering, laser scanning
and data capture services for a wide array of products, product
sizes and applications. For each project, we deliver 3D digital
data in a format suitable for your design, analysis and manufacturing
needs.
Applications
3D laser scanning services are used when 3D data does not
exist or when the final product varies from the 3D CAD definition.
Some examples include:
- 2D CAD to 3D CAD solid modeling transitions
- Documenting and archiving products that predate CAD
- Data to drive rapid prototyping and CNC machines
- 3D animation, rendering and visualization
- Reproduction of sculpted items
- First article inspection of manufactured goods
- Tool and die inspection and qualification
- Took and die replacement or duplication
- Data for computer analysis and simulation (FEA, CFD)
- Hybrid modeling—combining CAD design and hand working/machining
- Historical preservation
- Pattern making
- Customized medical products
When to Use 3D Scanning
If the answer to any of the following is ;Yes,
you should consider 3D scanning as a CAD input device:
- Contoured, freeform surfaces that cant be
measured?
- Fine details that can’t be measured?
- Complex, detailed geometry that is impractical to measure?
- Surfaced modeling or hybrid modeling software for 3D design?
